Davies went to American University School of Law. He was appointed a Dean's Fellow while he was there. After law school, he clerked for Judge Thomas S. O'Brien at the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. Martindale-Hubbell gave him a "BV" rating, which means very high marks for ethics and legal ability. He still shows up at the Bergen County Justice Center regularly. That has not changed in 40 years.
