Senggigi's Tourism Revival Gathers Momentum with Festival Senggigi 2026 “The Soul of Lombok”

SENGGIGI, LOMBOK — August 22, 2026 — Senggigi, Lombok's original international resort destination, is seeing renewed activity as Festival Senggigi 2026 “The Soul of Lombok” brings a three-month program of culture, arts, entertainment and community events to the island's west coast.

Launched by the Government of West Lombok, the program is intended to increase tourism visitation, encourage visitors to stay longer and generate greater economic activity for local communities and businesses.

A central part of the initiative has been a program of cultural performances held every weekend at the Senggigi Art Market Amphitheater. Local authorities have reported increasing attendance at the events, including participation by international tourists staying in hotels around Senggigi.

Culture at the Center of Senggigi's Renewal

Festival Senggigi places Lombok's culture at the center of the visitor experience, with performances and activities showcasing traditions and communities from across West Lombok.

Rather than focusing on a single major event, the extended program gives visitors repeated opportunities to experience Senggigi's cultural life during their stay.

The initiative comes as tourism stakeholders consider how to strengthen Senggigi as a year-round destination and encourage visitors to spend more time exploring Lombok's west coast.

New Investment in the Senggigi Art Market

The cultural program coincides with plans for significant renewal of the Senggigi Art Market area, an important public and tourism space at the center of the destination.

The planned investment provides another opportunity to strengthen Senggigi's public spaces and create a more attractive environment for cultural performances, local businesses, visitors and the wider community.

Together, the festival and Art Market renewal are contributing to a broader story of investment and renewed confidence in Senggigi tourism.

Senggigi as a Base for Exploring Lombok

Senggigi's location on Lombok's west coast makes it a convenient base for exploring much of the island.
