Homeowners can now post projects, compare bids, and hire CCB-verified contractors in one app while contractors pay no per-job commissions and 10% of company profits support humanitarian aid.
Portland, OR (PRUnderground) July 10th, 2026
Fyxr has launched its home services marketplace across the Portland metropolitan area, marking the first phase of the company’s planned expansion across Oregon. Homeowners in Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties can now post home improvement projects for free, receive competitive bids from licensed contractors, compare quotes side by side, message contractors, schedule work, and pay securely, all through a single mobile app.
The initial launch includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, painting, landscaping, general repair, and dozens of additional home service categories. Contractors licensed by the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB) can apply to join the platform immediately.
“Hiring a contractor has traditionally meant searching online, making multiple phone calls, waiting for estimates, and trying to compare them yourself,” said Tim Khal, Founder & CEO of Fyxr. “We built Fyxr so homeowners can handle every step of hiring a contractor in one place, while giving contractors a better way to grow their business.”
Every contractor on Fyxr completes a multi-step verification process before joining the marketplace, including Oregon CCB license verification, confirmation of active general liability insurance, and identity verification to help ensure licensing records match the applicant.
Once approved, contractors can browse new projects, submit competitive bids, communicate directly with homeowners, manage appointments, and receive payments through the platform. Unlike many lead generation platforms that charge contractors for individual leads, Fyxr charges a flat $89.99 monthly subscription, allowing contractors to bid on unlimited projects while keeping more of what they earn. Contractors accepted into the Founding Contractors Program receive free access during the initial rollout.
For homeowners, Fyxr is completely free to use. Users can post unlimited projects, compare multiple contractor bids, review contractor profiles with licensing and insurance information, exchange messages, schedule work, and manage payments without paying marketplace fees.
Fyxr’s mission extends beyond connecting homeowners and contractors. The company has committed to donating 10% of its profits to humanitarian aid.
“Businesses have the opportunity to do more than generate profits,” Khal said. “If we’re fortunate enough to build a successful company, we want that success to help people facing hardship around the world.”
The Portland metro launch marks the first phase of Fyxr’s expansion. The company plans to grow throughout Oregon before expanding into additional markets across the United States, with the long-term goal of making Fyxr available to homeowners and contractors nationwide.
