Turning Point's kids, students, adults and worship ministries work together so that every space is safe
Lubbock, United States - October 29, 2026 / Turning Point Community Church /
LUBBOCK, TX - October 26, 2026 - Turning Point Community Church is inviting Lubbock families impacted by special needs to find a church home through TPCC Friends, its ministry for children, students, and adults with physical, developmental, sensory, or cognitive differences, along with the parents, siblings, and caregivers who love them. Accommodations are best served during the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service at the church's West Loop campus, 5721 58th St.
Rather than limiting care to a single room or program, TPCC Friends takes a whole-church approach. Turning Point's kids, students, adults, and worship ministries work together so that every space is safe, supportive, and accessible, allowing families to experience church, community, and worship together.
Support for Every Age
Children are welcomed into inclusive classrooms led by trained volunteers, with buddy support, sensory accommodations as needed, and safe, structured environments that allow for flexible learning styles.
Students take part in small group environments built to foster belonging, with peer friendships, additional support when needed, and leaders trained in patience, flexibility and encouragement.
Adults have access to accessible worship spaces, buddy or companion support, community groups that prioritize inclusion, and pastoral care and prayer support.
What TPCC Friends Offers
Buddy Program
One-on-one support during services helps children, students, and adults participate comfortably and confidently alongside their peers.
Sensory-Friendly Spaces
Quiet rooms with soft lighting, reduced noise, and calming tools are available during services for anyone who may feel overstimulated.
Inclusive Kids Curriculum
Turning Point Kids uses the Amazing+ curriculum from Orange, adapted in every kid's space to meet different learning styles and abilities so every child can engage with God's Word in a way that makes sense to them.
Family Support and Prayer
Pastoral care, connection, and encouragement are available for parents and caregivers who need someone to listen, pray, and walk with them.
Respite Care Nights (Coming Soon)
Trained volunteers will care for kids and students during special evenings so parents can rest, recharge, or connect.
A Safe Environment Families Can Trust
Every Turning Point staff member and volunteer completes a background check and safety training before serving. Families are personally welcomed at a secure check-in, where parents receive an identification sticker that matches their child's name tag and must present it at pick-up, ensuring children are released only to authorized adults.
How to Get Started
Families interested in TPCC Friends can fill out the Connect With Us form at tpcconline.com/special-needs. A member of the Turning Point team will follow up to answer questions, share details, and guide them through next steps before their first visit.
