Grants Will Be Used to Support Groups Aiding Seniors in Need Across the Country
BRYN MAWR, Pa., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Visiting Angels Foundation, the non-profit arm of Visiting Angels, America's Choice in Home Care®, is thrilled to announce its approved grantees from the Foundation's 2026 summer grant round. From Pennsylvania to California, these eight organizations were selected to receive grants of $5,000 (first-time nominations) or $1,500 (repeat nominations) in recognition of their dedication and service to vulnerable seniors in their respective communities.

Each of the eight grantees was recommended by a Visiting Angels franchise location. They include:
- Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital (Malvern, Pennsylvania) - Recommended by Andy and Mona Nandy of Visiting Angels Havertown, PA. Bryn Mawr Rehab provides rehabilitation care for seniors and others recovering from injury and illness, and the hospital's Foundation offers financial assistance for the patients it serves.
- The Center at Belvedere (Charlottesville, Virginia) - Recommended by Chris Dickey of Visiting Angels Fredericksburg, VA. The Center offers healthy aging programs and social connections for adults 50 and older.
- Memory Matters Glynn (Brunswick, Georgia) - Recommended by Catherine Ascher of Visiting Angels Southeast Georgia. Memory Matters Glynn provides support, education, and activities for people living with dementia, as well as help for family members and caregivers who care for them.
- Dementia Friendly Fort Worth (Fort Worth, Texas) - Recommended by Dale Brock of Visiting Angels Ft Worth, TX. Dementia Friendly Fort Worth provides connection, activities, and education for people living with dementia and the care partners who walk alongside them.
- Houston Headquarters National Veterans & Advocates Readiness (NVAR) Lions (Texas City, Texas) - Recommended by Casey Lindblade of Visiting Angels Webster, TX. NVAR Lions supports veterans, seniors, and others with health resources and direct assistance.
- Damian's Ladder (Scotts Valley, California) - Recommended by Jeanette Pagliaro of Visiting Angels Central Coast in California. Damian's Ladder provides free and low-cost home repairs so that seniors and people with disabilities can stay in their own homes. For a senior living on a fixed income, a broken sink or a failing furnace can be the difference between independent living and having to give up the home they love.
- A Caring Closet (Vancouver, Washington) - Recommended by Amy Loudenback of Visiting Angels Vancouver, WA. A Caring Closet provides free durable medical equipment and supplies to seniors in need, so vulnerable seniors can access walkers, wheelchairs, and other equipment.
- Senior Action Network of Eastern Washington (Spokane Valley, Washington) - Recommended by Jessie Coberley of Visiting Angels Spokane Valley, WA. SANEWA supports low-income seniors and veterans through service projects and emergency assistance for those who have exhausted other options.
"We feel very strongly that it's our responsibility to support the best organizations that are making a difference in the lives of seniors across our country," said Dan Drennen, President of the Visiting Angels Foundation. "We're honored to come alongside these excellent organizations that share in the mission of caring for America's seniors."
The Visiting Angels Foundation maintains a rigorous grant approval process to ensure service quality and protect donor intent. A worthy grantee must provide a high quality of service to struggling seniors, be good stewards of their financial resources, have a track record of excellent outcomes for those they serve and agree to provide regular reports on their use of Foundation funds.
Since 2021, the Visiting Angels Foundation has awarded $374,000 to more than 89 organizations across the country. For more information, please visit https://visitingangelsfoundation.org/.
